Party Dresses

I've been fortunate to snag invites to some fun events through work lately. I've been trying my hardest to "shop my closet," but I think I've finally hit rock bottom. Any suggestions on where to find some good, inexpensive semi-formal or formal dresses for upcoming events?

Here's what I've worn so far (and yes, I love black).

Dress from Barristers Ball (2008) and Honeymoon

Dress from NYE

Places I've been looking is the BCBG outlet, TJ Maxx, and Dillards. Thanks for any help!

Personality Types

It's always been interesting to me to find out what people's personality types are. As much as I try to fight it, I'm 100% an ENFJ (Extroverted Abstract Judging Feeler).

Here's what they say about ENFJ's:

Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.

The other night I was reading a tweet from The College Prepster and got sucked into the Celebrity Personality Type website. There was quite a mix of people listed as ENFJ's up there. Everyone from Ronald Reagan and Obama to Sheryl Sandberg and Emma Stone.

Do you know what your personality type is? Do you think it fits you? Here's a link to a free online test (nowhere near as in-depth as the regular Myers-Briggs' test).

Virginia City:Mah New Favorite Place

I've been meaning to go to Virginia City ever since we moved to Reno. Everything about a "Wild West town gets me on board.

We head on out with Mr. Bee's mom and grandma last weekend and took in the sights and the saloons.

Highlights of our trip:

I ran into this fellow after lunch. Apparently it was his birthday, and he was trying to hatch an egg that was in his pocket. He really wanted me to see this egg.

I've missed out on the annual camel races for the past two years. Not this year.

I have to say that this miner-49'er and his donkey, Bernadine, were the highlight of my trip.

Not pictured - touring an old cemetery, the Buckets of Blood Saloon and a delicious Bloody Mary, everyone in the world dressed up in Old West clothes, and the Mark Twain museum.

If you ever come to visit me in Reno, chances are I'll be taking you to Virginia City.

First Surrogate Meeting

Tonight is going to be our first meeting with a surrogate. So far, all I know is that she's married with a son, and has had a twin surrogacy for a couple over a year ago. She sounds amazing and her picture made me instantly feel like she'd be someone I would want to be friends with.

I honestly have no idea how this is going to go. I know I'll ask random questions out of anxiousness and hope she doesn't think I'm a total weirdo. I know that if it doesn't go well, we will eventually find someone who is a perfect fit for us.

I didn't get much sleep last night and I'm a bit out of sorts at work today, but I'm just keeping my fingers and toes crossed right now that things will go well. All you can do is hope, right?

Movin' on up!

From last Thursday:

Today is the start of everything - we signed our contract with our surrogacy agency! The whole thing seems surreal and exciting and scary.

We met with the agency owner at Starbucks and went through all the paperwork and she answered our questions (I had a million) and we officially decided to move forward.

Right now there are two surrogates who she has waiting, and possibly a third who delivered twins via surrogacy last year and may be looking to be a surrogate again.

Looking at the pictures of people who could potentially carry your child is crazy. This person will be giving us the greatest gift at all, and someone I'll be thankful for my entire life. I hope that it's someone that Mr. Bee and I both bond well with and someone that I'll be close to.

Then you have all the questions like:
"Do I go to the appointments?"
"How many days a week do we talk?"
"Will she like me?"

Fingers crossed that everything from here goes smoothly!
