Dress Me Up - Boot Edition

On yet another amazing trip to San Francisco last weekend, Mr. Bee and I went to shopping mall Mecca, where I scored a pair of Banana Republic boots at a killer price.

Question is, how can I wear these without looking like a witch? I'm thinking skinny jeans, a cute, flowy top and jacket. Any ideas? I'm pledging to get a lot of use out of these!

San Francisco Photo Fest

Mr. Bee and I took an impromptu trip to San Francisco this weekend. We had dinner with friends, walked around Palo Alto, went shopping on Union Street, and ate at some delicious restaurants. Here's a photo haul from the weekend - Can I go back yet?
We're so happy to be in California!

Beauty and the Beast and Book Love

I'm so excited because my favorite Disney movie of all time, Beauty and the Beast, is coming out in theatres this weekend. In 3D. I can count on one hand how many 3D movies I've seen in my lifetime. Actually, I'm pretty sure the only one I've ever seen is Captain EO. And then I stopped after that because really and truly, no one can ever live up to 3D Michael Jackson.

But Beauty and the Beast 3D might take the cake. I already know what the best part of the movie is going to be: The library scene. Can you imagine how great the 3D library is going to be?!

Amazing library in yo face
Some more library love:

I'd love tall library bookshelves in my house
Love the idea of books in armoires!

And an adorable book store video:

Are any of you as excited as I am for Beauty and the Beast?

Do Keurigs Have Souls?

No, I'm not talking about Freddy Krueger, who we all know has no soul.
Too scared to post pic of Freddy Krueger
I'm actually referring to the coffee maker. You know, the one that everyone and their mom has. Even my mom has one and is obsessed.

I'm not usually a coffee drinker. In fact, I recently went two years without caffeine. But I do love me some tea. And I love the process of putting water in the kettle, waiting for it to whistle, and grabbing my oversized mug. But sometimes, I'm in a hurry. I want to throw my teabag in a thermos mug, have instant hot water, and run to work.

Work is actually where I used a Keurig for the first time. And I really thought it was just for coffee, so I avoided it like the plague. Then a coworker brought in some tea and apple cider K-Cups, and my mind was blown. My favorite spiced tea had a K-Cup? And tasted just as delicious?

But then I think about how a box of tea K-Cups are about $15. And a box of teabags with the same exact tea is about $3, $4 at most. Sure, I don't get to hear the machine at work make the cool brewing sound, and I don't get to push down the lever and pretend like I work in an industrial plant, but I get the same, hot tea satisfaction.

So what's your take on the whole Keurig/K-Cup phenomenon? Are you a die-hard, or do you like your coffee or tea the old-fasioned way?

Also, shout-out to Patience & Perfection who just wrote me on twitter and asked me what the heck a Krueger Coffee Maker was. Because I have a fever and wrote that Kreuger instead of Keurig in the entire blog post. Round one - fever!

*Freddy Krueger did not enter my dreams and plant this blog post in my head. Kuerig has not endorsed this in any way. I do not own a Kuerig, although if they wanted to send one to me I would probably glad me take it.

Fav Books of 2011

Thank God for Good Reads, or I would have no idea what I read last year. I'm a voracious reader and go through books quickly, which is a blessing or a curse, depending on how good the book is and how much you pay for books.

In 2011 it looks like I read about 50 books. This was largely due to the fact that I found an amazing Goodwill near my house that has the best collection of used books for only $1.50 each. Since a lot of you are putting together 2012 reading lists, I wanted to list some of my favorites from last year.

Game of Thrones series
Hunger Games trilogy (will be a movie soon, better read up!)
A Reliable Wife
Saving CeeCee Honeycutt
And, there were a lot of trashy, chick-lit books in there. Some too embarrassing to list in Good Reads...

I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and just finished Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children, which I was hoping would be a bit better. So far I'm still a bigger fan of real books than eBooks, but the concept of taking a bunch of books with me on trips instead of 50 lbs of books is pretty neat.

Some of the books already on deck for this year:
Divergent
World War Z
What is the What
The Elegance of the Hedgehog

Do you have any reading goals for this year? What are you looking forward to reading?
