True Life: I completed the Heart Walk

A long time ago, I posted that one of my "bucket list" items was to complete a 5K. Then I was diagnosed with POTS Syndrome, and seriously thought that was one item that I'd never be able to cross off.

Since I've been getting better over the past few years, I've added it back on. And while the Northern Nevada Heart Walk wasn't quite a 5K (only 2 miles), I was still so proud that I was able to complete it. Mr. Bee has been walking with me at night and was there with my Reno Alpha Phi sisters while we tackled the heart walk yesterday!

Best trainer ever!
Here's a couple group shots.

To be honest, I feel awful today, but I'm beaming with pride that I'm getting closer to crossing that goal off. I'm working towards walking the Susan G. Komen 5K in October with Junior League, and hoping I'll be well enough to complete it.

Many of you know my dear friend Juliana from Blonde in a Blog is also an Alpha Phi with POTS (and also Lyme, immune issues, and heart problems) and is one of my biggest inspirations. I'm walking for her as much as for me. If you ever have any prayers to spare, please send them her way. She's an amazing friend and she's going through so much.
