Warm weather lust list

It's finally getting warm, and I have a few things I'd love to invite to live in my closet.

Warm weather lust list:
Tunics! I love you! Especially the ones by Cape Madras.

Tory Burch Miller Sandals. Fashionable and comfy - perfect for warm weather.

Tortoise anything - especially this tortoise Fossil watch.

Wedges are so fun to wear during spring and summer with shorts. Mine are so worn out, it might be time to snag another pair.

Do you have anything on your warm weather wish list?

Holy adorable music

If I could choose any job in the whole wide world, it would be making music playlists. In high school, I was the mixtape queen. I had a mixtape for every occasion, every trip, and every relationship. I love using Spotify because it's fun and easy to make and share playlists with all of my friends, and a great tool to find new bands.

My fav playlist: I live in Anthropologie

Here's a few adorable bands that I wanted to share:

Handsome and Gretyl - I just found them and their cute, folksy songs are just a bright spot in my day.

Layla Lane - My friend Valerie from elementary through high school is the lead singer and is amazingly talented. They actually have two very successful coke commercials in Japan!

The Momeraths - Not currently together, but their one EP is just filled with warm fuzzies.

Walk off the Earth - If you love quirky music videos, you will love them. They also do one of the coolest covers of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" with only one guitar.

Whirlwind San Diego Weekend

Just got back from an amazing girl's weekend in San Diego with my besties! Here's a major photo haul for y'all.

Of course, I had to make shirts for everyone. Who doesn't love Michael Jackson and ET? And yes, that's definitely an ET/MJ onesie in the mix.
My sorority was actually having an alumnae open house, so we dropped by to see all the new renovations and meet the girls. Let's just say I feel pretty old.

Fish tacos are part of the whole San Diego experience. We stopped by the first Rubio's ever for some fish tacos and photo opps.

Later, we went by one of my old fav hangouts, Shore Club, for just one beer. And we stuck to that! It makes it easier when your one beer is actually in a goblet.

The next day, we got to enjoy the perfect weather outside at my friend's house, where we had all sorts of yummy snacks, summer-y drinks, and board games. Surprisingly, I rock at Jenga.

Sitting next to the OG Operation winner - she works in the medical field so she has an advantage.

All the girls (and baby K-Jo, my favorite baby of all time)

And of course, there was Chipotle. There's never any shame in Chipotle.

So now I'm back in Reno looking out the window at the dirt mountains and wishing I still had an ocean view. Thankfully, I did get to school my friends on "Doomsday Preppers" (Have you seen that show? It's insane!). I missed my friends more than I even knew and I can't wait for another trip back ASAP.

I'm in Book Heaven

Work has been consuming my life lately, but my amazing co-worker shared a million of her Kindle books with me! I'm seriously in book heaven over here.

Here's what I've read lately:

50 Shades of Grey

Yes, I've been drinking the kool-aid. And honestly, I love this book (and the 2nd one). It's definitely blush-worthy, but I really liked the characters. If you're not ok with smutty books, you won't like it.

The Sugar Queen

Another amazing read. I just finished this for my online book club and loved it. The author is great and very descriptive. The book is as delicious as if Paula Deen herself wrote it and filled it with butter.

A Stolen Life - Jacee Dugard Memoir

This book was tough to get through just because it's unbelievable that this poor girl lived through all of this. It seems like she is doing so well for someone who's been through so much.

I'm going down to San Diego for the first time since I moved to visit friends this weekend and I am so head-over-heels excited! I may have already started packing for this momentous occasion.

I'm also looking forward to getting a new blog design in the next few weeks from the fabulous Jenn at Munchkin Land Designs!  She created my current blog design a few years back and I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Lots to look forward to!
