Springing into Lilly

Even though I'm practically begging for more snow, it's looking more and more like spring out here. And the only good thing about spring is the fact that my Lilly Pulitzer dresses get to come back into the main closet. I have to admit I was disappointed by the selection at the Rue La La sale earlier this week, but I'm over it now that I've checked out their main site and seen some to die for items.

Without further adieu, my Lilly lust-list:

And I just found this bad boy on eBay and decided it finally needed to come live with me:

These hand soaps popped up in my inbox this morning and I decided they were pretty Lilly too:

Lastly, there is an amazing sale going on at ToryBurch.com. I realize that nothing is realistically inexpensive, but I've been saving up for the flannel Revas and they're finally on sale! Merry Christmas to me (again).

Happy Friday!

Humming to the Tune of Tunics

I have long legs and a negative torso. Tunics were pretty much invented just for me. I absolutely love dressing up basics and wearing tunics with a pair of skinny jeans or capris and heels. Here are some of my favs (most of them are on sale!) Just picture them with a big, statement necklace and some fun shoes.

Banded Bottom Tunic (2 for $30)

V-Neck Cotton Tunic (2 for $30)

Three Quarter Tunic ($16 and buy one, get one 50% off)

Head Over Heels for Headbands

My hair has been feeling pretty dull lately, so I'm trying to substitute fun headbands in lieu of chopping it off/dyeing it weird colors that I later regret. Here are some recent faves:

Vintage Inspired (she'll mount it on a brooch, hairclip or headband)

It's hip to mention your unmentionables

For some reason I saw these adorable little bags on Etsy and just thought they were wonderful. No longer will you have to lug your entire purse with you to the bathroom during that time of the month. In fact, everyone can know your business.

Same goes for birth control pills. Don't scrounge through your drawer every night, keep your valuables in an adorable, embroidered pouch.

These are all created MontclairMade and made out of repurposed denim jeans.

Some of my other shop faves:

2011 Calendar Lust

It's a new year, so why don't you start by getting organized with a new calendar? Here are some of my favorites. Calendars are perfect for: cheap wall art, remembering your anniversary, remembering your own birthday, letting your dog chew on and making into paper airplanes when you're finished with it. So saddle up with a new calendar and make it a cute one - it'll make a cuter paper airplane!

The One Where I Win a Blog Giveaway

I never win anything, so color me surprised when I opened my inbox to an email from Sam @ Style/Swoon telling me I won these adorable little critters from Flora + Fauna!

I'm so excited to have these put away for future hypothetical Baby Bee's room! Thanks for helping me start 2011 off with a bang!

New Year's Resolution

Is that Professor Snape on the left?
My 2011 New Year's Resolution: To learn every word of "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by R.E.M., and perform it at karaoke in 2011.

Secondary resolutions include eating healthier, exercising while watching bad reality TV, more fun dates with the husband, walking Eleanor more and generally being a better person.

These lyrics should be easy enough to learn, right? Right.

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, regardless of your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

Goodbye 2010
