CONFESSION: I'm Moving

Catch your attention? For cereal. I'm moving here:

Just so everyone knows, I don't plan on living under the sign, but you get the idea. As of the end of August, Mr. Bee and I will be moving the furry family out to Reno, Nevada while he completes a one-year judicial clerkship at the courthouse.

More details to come soon, but had to get it off my chest. I think this move will provide some amazing blog material, and we all know my blogging has been lacking at best lately.

Dogs, News, Bridesmaids and Embarrassing College Photos

I was really hoping that 2010 would be a year of being a good blogger. That I'd be able to blog at least 4 times a week. I've had a bunch of setbacks and I apologize about my lack of commenting and responding. I really do read all of your amazing comments and am so grateful to have such a great group of blog readers who support me and lift me up when I'm down. Pat yourselves on the back - you're amazing!

I promise that in the very near future I will be a good blogger.

I have to wait a day or two to reveal the big news, but it's been a constant stress in my life and I have a ton of change coming my way. If you follow me on Twitter you probably have an idea, but I hope I can come clean on here soon.

In the meantime, last weekend I took the train up to see my family and their new puppy, Gracie! Gracie is a 3 month old Olde English Sheepdog and a total love bug. It took me every ounce of restraint not to put her in my suitcase. Look at this face!

I got to spend a very relaxing day with my family enjoying the nice weather and playing with Gracie, who is one of the silliest puppies I've ever met.

In other news, my sorority sister who was my roommate all through college is getting married and I was asked to be her bridesmaid! I'm so happy I'll be there to support her through her special day. We did some of the silliest things in college like riding our couch cushions down the stairs in the sorority house, spontaneous dance parties and songs, and basically just getting in to trouble. I'm so happy that she's found someone she wants to spend the rest of her life with.

I literally can't believe that my best friend is getting married, that I'm married, and just a few years ago I was able to drink wine out of a bag.

Life is funny, and I'm trying to stay positive and hope everything works out for the best. I have faith that everything will work out the way it should.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you and watch over you.

I got bangs! My hair is so now.

I made a game-day decision and got bangs. So far, no regrets. My plan is to invest in bangs for the summer so when it's a million degrees out and my hair is constantly up it looks like I kind of tried. Party in the front. So here's the goods.
Day 1:
 Day 2:

Look, I even found two separate bathrooms to pose in!

#2 Since this sudden heat wave I have seen many people unabashedly wear gaucho pants out in public. As this is my #1 search term - what's your take?

#3 Thank you guys so much for your sweet replies about Diesel. It's been a really tough week for me and my family, and I appreciate your kind words more than you know.

Diesel-Doggie

Yesterday I lost my sweet "dog brother" Diesel. He passed away in his sleep on Saturday night. I am heartbroken, but I take peace in the fact that he was playful and had his wonderful, goofy personality until the end, and didn't spend his last days suffering. Coming to my parent's house will never feel the same without his 100 lb. body jumping up to kiss my face and his love of car rides and sticking his huge face out my sunroof.

I'll miss you my handsome boy, but I know you're running around in doggie heaven chasing squirrels and eating hamburgers.

Serena + Lily Home Decor

Have you all been to the Serena and Lily website? I just stumbled across it the other day and I'd like to live inside of it. They have some of the cutest furniture and bedding. And I absolutely love their nursery bedding - I never seem to find anything I like for boy nurseries because I'm not a huge fan of themes like the jungle or Aladdin or anything, so their clean and simplistic patterns were a cold drink of water to me.

No impending bee announcements, but it doesn't hurt to look!

How cute is this headboard?

And this one?

I've been in a mellow, yellow mood lately

What are your go-to places for bedding and decor?

Shot-Out to James Taylor

I absolutely love him. I grew up listening to his music, and I've seen him play live tons of time. I've even seen his son Ben Taylor, who looks good and sounds even better, live and in concert. James Taylor's music reminds me of past loves, family, and feeling comfort. I didn't get to see them on their latest tour, but I'm hoping to make it to their last date up in L.A.

Love James Taylor and Carole King? Check out their NPR interview here.
