Ask Me Anything

I've been busy with work, Mr. Bee is busy taking the Bar exam, and between our lives and being sick and having mush brain I haven't had much to write about! So, I've had to result to the anonymous joy of Formspring for inspiration. Go ahead, ask me anything.

What is one goal you want to complete more than anything? by luvspinkpearls

The one goal I'd most like to accomplish is to become a mother. My major dream goal would be to open an animal rescue.

When are you going to have kids?

We were originally going to start trying next month. With my health issues, we have to push it back until I'm well, which is hopefully in the not-too distant future, but is completely up in the air right now. I want to have kids so badly so I've been really depressed about this setback. (PS - my questions are depressing..sorry!)

Special talent?

I can put both of my legs behind my head and walk on my hands. I can also bark like a dog, and identify any song within the first second of hearing it. I wish I had a useful talent!

Have you and your husband become friends with other law students and their spouses?

We do have a lot of attorney friends. Surprisingly, most of our law friends are unmarried (most likely because they wanted to wait until after the Bar exam). I haven't met many other girls whose husbands are attorneys, so it was a disappointment when I couldn't launch my "Law School Widow" club, complete with shirts and bumper stickers

why do you have to wear glasses?

Short answer: I have horrible vision. Long answer: I've worn glasses since I was 7 years old - I have horrible vision. As soon as I started middle school I started wearing contacts and fell in love. Unfortunately, contacts and me don't really like each other. I had tons of infections and ulcers caused from chronic dry eye and whatever else that caused scarring, and now I can't wear contacts without being in extreme pain. Which is sad because I really feel unattractive with glasses, but I've been wearing them full-time for about 3 years now so I'm getting used to it, and it gives me an excuse to grow my glasses collection!

What's one thing you own that you should probably throw away, but never will?

All of my notes and letters from high school. I have old photos, cards, and notebooks with my friends that I just can't toss. I have no plans on sitting around and reading everything, but I'm just scared I'll regret it if I actually get rid of them, so they're hoarded away at my parent's house.

why haven't you answered any questions?

I've been sick, my brain is mush, my husband has been studying for the bar and things have been crazy around here! Also, I just forgot this was even here.

how do i wear heels without wanting to get a foot replacement by the end of the day?

I've learned to almost always wear platform heels so that my feet aren't in such an awkward position. It's basically like standing on a platform. Jessica Simpson shoes have lots of platform options.

why are you always in the hospital?

I have POTS Syndrome (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which is basically a fancy term for my blood pressure dropping dramatically and heart rate rising when I'm standing. This tires me out really easily, and I've been basically homebound since January. I also get dehydrated really easily, so I have to go in for IV fluids every once in a while.

The Buzz on The Bachelor and Coconut Water

I have to say I haven't always liked the Bachelor, but for some reason I started watching it this season. And despite it's hoakiness, Jake's bad lines, the corny music and the lack of relatable bachelorettes, it's been one of my guilty pleasures.

I've been rooting for Ali the whole time. I know she's a little dramatic, but she reminds me a lot of a friend of mine and I think she and Jake would make the best couple. Out of someone who is ridiculously insecure and uncomfortable in her own skin, someone who is clearly not over her last relationship (how many times can you say ex-husband?!?!), and an obnoxious girl who looks like a squirrel, I'm just not siding with anyone else. I literally yelled at my TV last night when Ali left for her job, and when she actually got in the limo I kept saying "You're going to turn! No? Not yet? Ok, now. Ok, maybe now. Ok, maybe after another block..."

I was literally mad. I was mad at this stupid show. And I am embarrassed that I actually cared that a guy I think is a total wimp and a girl I don't know are not on the wings of love right now. And god was I excited that she called him while they were on their trip. If Ali doesn't come back I will seriously pitch a fit.

TV, you've finally sucked me in. Maybe I do need to pick up knitting.

Also, a positive vote for coconut water. If you're looking for a refreshing sports drink, need some potassium or are chronically dehydrated (or all 3), check out Zico coconut water. You can find it at health food stores or Whole Foods, and it's super mild. It's a little expensive, but I'm willing to drink pretty much anything to stay hydrated. No, Mr. Coconut Water did not call me to advocate for it, I'm just sick of drinking Pedialyte and Gatorade. Apparently it's also a great hangover cure. If I ever drink alcohol again I promise I'll let you know how it works.

LOST - Before The Final Episode

We haven't even watched the new episode of Lost and we're already confusing each other. Taken from our conversation while watching the Lost re-cap episode.

Mr. Bee: It's cool how they go back to the island on flight 316, just like the bible verse about sacrifice.
Me: From John?
Mr. Bee: No, Frank Lupitas.
Me: The book of Frank Lupitas??

Now I just keep cracking myself up thinking of Frank Lupitas 3:16.

Can't wait to see the new episode - I can't believe it's the final season!

Tunic Season is Year-Round.

I am loving this Racerback Tunic from Forever 21. Would be perfect for warm weather, but also great to wear with a long sleeved shirt under it or a structured blazer over it. Super cute find for only $7.50.

Adding to my basket...
