A Dog and Horse Christmas

I just got back from LA last night and still a little too tired to blog. Had a wonderful Christmas with both of my families and it was great to be back (albeit shorter than I would've liked!) Can't believe 2011 is just a few short days away...Where has the year gone?

Sorry again for the lack of words - here's some Christmas photos. Yes, my Christmas was filled with horses and dogs.

You've Got Mail - Recut

On this amazing winter day Mr. Bee and I were watching my favorite movie, You've Got Mail. And maybe it's something in the air, but I was thinking how creepy it would be if Tom Hanks was meeting Meg Ryan at the end in Central Park because HE KNEW she would be meeting her date there. And what if Tom Hanks offed her date to be with her instead?

Oh no worries, someone already thought of You've Got Mail as a horror/suspense flick.

Cozy Winter Warmness

Today was my first real snowstorm as an adult, which made me think of all the cozy things in the world.

Meet Raffi!

We live in snow now, and unfortunately, that means neither my Beetle or Mr. Bee's 1998 Ford Explorer are going to cut it when we drive across the mountains for the holidays. So we finally set out and bought a new car - meet Raffi! He's a handsome little Rav4.

Posing at my house

And here he is showing off his best angle at my work

My friend asked me to pay homage to the Sienna family

Instead of most upgraded options, I opted for a glovebox oven so I could bake cookies while driving. So far I'm pretty happy, except that my husband keeps trying to steal him away from me.

Sidebar: I have to say that the Dodge Sienna videos are some of my favorite social media advertisements. Way to go them, only to be surpassed by the Old Spice Guy.

I dress like bugs

Last week I unknowingly dressed like an insect on two occasions at work.

Christmas List

This year was the hardest to put together a Christmas list.

Not to get sappy, but I already have everything I could ever need. I'm (knock on wood) healthy, which is all I wished for last year. I have an amazing family and wonderful friends, furry kids, a great house to rent, and a  job. There is absolutely nothing that I need. That being said, my mom goes to my blog every year to find out what I want, so this blog post is going out to her.

Holler for Holiday Cards!

Have you ever tried getting a dog, two cats and a husband to look at the camera at the same time? Unless you've heavily sedated all of them, there's no way it'll happen. Which is why through the wonders of Photoshop and Shutterfly I was able to create my Christmas cards over the magic of the internet.

Shutterfly is currently running a promotion where they are giving bloggers 50 FREE holiday cards! Fortunately I saw this before I ordered my cards this week, so I wanted to pass the offer along to all of my other blog friends.

Our final holiday card:

I used them last year and was so stoked that I was able to create my cards and have them printed out at Target just hours later (since an ordeal with ANOTHER card vendor resulted in our heads being cut in half in all invitations.)

You can also use Shutterfly for:

  • Yearly calendars! Whose family wouldn't want 12 months of your dog dressed up in different holiday outfits?
  • Photo cards. I know that all of my friends will be excited when I send them cards featuring me, riding Falcor. Maybe I'll even add a birthday cake on the back of his tail, or a token candle on his head.

So jump on the wagon and check out their promotion and holiday cards. I can't wait to get mine in the mail (and then get them out to you!)

Mr. Bee is adorable

Mr. Bee in his Black Friday LL Bean outfit.
He loves flannel and all things cute
He grew a beard just because I asked him to become a grizzly bear face

I hope I can be as adorable as he is one day.

I'll keep trying.

Reverb10 - Reflecting on 2010

I'm participating in Reverb10 - a website with prompts for reflecting on thus year and sending out good thoughts for next year. I'm posting once a day on my Tumblr site (didn't want to overwhelm anyone's feed with daily posts), so if you're interested check out my postings here. It looks like a great project so jump in and participate (and let me know so I can see your answers!)

Thanksgiving Catch-Up

Since we couldn't go home to see our families this year for Thanksgiving, we roughed it around Reno. Here's Mr. Bee looking thoughtful as he prepares to take on "THE SASQUATCH."

And me sitting with my tea, loving it up with my omelette.

Later we took Ellie for a walk in the snow. We're so surprised she loves it!

I have to say I love the snow (as long as I'm not driving in it.)

How could you not love this?

I'm so thankful for:
My family - wish I could have been with them this year
My friends - old and new.
My amazing husband who has truly been there for me through everything.
My dog and kitties - Their unconditional love is amazing.
My health - I can't believe that this time last year I was unable to walk. I thank God every day for all that I can now do.
My new job.
All of my blog/twitter friends!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving - I'm thankful for all of you!
