The Buzz at Anthropologie

I love me some Anthropologie! Even though I didn't find any clothing items that were amazing and affordable, I did find these cute little bee earrings. You know me and my bee love (as long as they're the cuddly type, and not the type that stingy type).

Acorn Adoration

Stemming from my love of the JCrew Pinecone and Squirrel Holding Acorn bracelet (probably the most random bracelet ever created, but my favorite) and longing for everything east coast.

Michael Jackson is Eating Cake in Heaven

I seriously love Michael Jackson and am so sad that he is no longer with us. My friend even knew my love for Michael and made me a copy of Captain EO a few months ago!

I was on CakeWrecks.com and saw some amazing MJ cakes that I wanted to share:

Oh Hi Amazing Future Baby Names

My husband's friend told us that we needed to claim our future kids names early so that we'd have them locked up before the rest of our friends get baby fever and want to birth things too.

Here's to our amazing future kids who I probably won't meet for quite a while:

Jackson Bee
Madeleine Grace Bee
Avery Bee

RIP Ashley Madison Bee, whose name belongs to a prominent adult affair website, dooming said negative child to certain stripperness.

Excited for Oven Mitts

I was at Target yesterday buying things for my upcoming sleepover party weekend with my best friends (yes, I'm going to be 26 and still have slumber parties), and scouted this oven mitt that I fell in love with.

If you had told me when I was 14 that I would fall in love with an oven mitt, much less one named "Garden Party," I would have never believed you. Neverthless, here she is. No, I haven't named her yet.
I also love their Shabby Chic collection for bed + bath. I know that I would probably be a single lady if I decided to buy this bed set, but I think it's so cute!

They have a ton of cute bathroom items and things around the house that are so cute and also completely forbidden to me, Maybe if I get everything incrementally he won't notice...

Polyvore is my BFF

I'm late to the tea party, but I've just found Polyvore and I am in love. I am a total collager/scrapper/article hoarder/ and this is so fun in helping me make outfits and also collages. Here's a few I've been working on.

Also, I'm not having kids yet (though I'd have to admit I have baby fever, so I made this one for a bulldog when I realized you can do interior design on here.

Cupcakes and Cocktails Party Ideas

Invite Inspiration from this: http://abelleandherbeau.blogspot.com/2009/02/cupcakes-cocktails.html

From Southern Living: http://www.southernaccents.com/entertaining/parties/cupcakes-cocktails-00400000025906/

From eVite: "Cupcakes are still all the rage, so I was glad to see this clever twist on the treat from The Insomniac Chef: mini cupcakes served with mini cocktails. They created a five-course cupcake tasting menu (note: insomniacs), but you can be far less ambitious and still throw a swanky party.

Just make or buy your favorite cupcakes, and choose a drink with complementary flavors, so these two great tastes taste great together. Some flavor basics to get you started: berries and sparkling wine are a classic combination; chocolate goes well with coffee-flavored liqueurs; and carrot cake just begs for bourbon. I even like to spike my carrot cake cream cheese frosting with bourbon to bring out the vanilla flavor.

Top each cupcake with a cocktail parasol. Fancy.

Try this menu for a bridal shower, cocktail party or a really good Tuesday. And be sure to invite me."

....Can't wait to try these!

Wii and Brie Party

I just found out about this idea and think it's adorable! I live in a smaller apartment with a dog and two kitties, so space is an issue, but I'd love to have a small version of this during the summer.

Here's some posts about other Wii parties:

Tips from eVite:

Step 1 - Figure out a date that works well for your Wii-Playing friends.

Step 2
- Go to Evite, www.evite.com and send out an Evite with a Wii theme. Search for "wii party" under designs.

Step 3 - Ask guests to bring any remotes and games that they have for the Wii.

Step 4
- On the day of the party, setup your Wii or Wii's. Make sure there is enough space for everyone to play comfortably.

Connecticut Love and Bookends

I lived in Connecticut when I was a child and miss it terribly. I was looking for the song "Bookends" and found this video and it reminded me of being in New England and all of the covered bridges, lakes for ice skating and open spaces that I don't have in California.

Chipotle and Tropical Dresses

The Chipotle Vegetarian Burrito Bowl is my favorite thing on the planet to eat, and I'd seriously eat two today if I could still fit into my clothes for all of the social events going on this week.

I'm going to a wine bar opening tomorrow night and a Summer Solstice party Friday, which is tropical themed, and means I have absolutely nothing to wear. Finding an outfit for this will be an interesting challenge.

I do like both of these dresses from Banana Republic - I'm going to head over there after work and see if either of them will work out. Nothing says challenge like finding a fancy tropical themed dress!

30 Things to do Before 30

I'm nearing the corner to 26 and decided to make a list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30. Off the top of my head I can't think of 30, but here's a start:

1. Bake a cake from scratch
2. Take a cupcake decorating class
3. Learn how to play all of Moonlight Sonata on the piano
4. Read a book a month for a year
5. Go to Hawaii
6. Go to San Francisco for the first time
7. Have kids
8. Visit my grandma in Vermont
9. Learn how to make a casserole
10. Learn how to knit a scarf
11. Write handwritten cards to my friends and family 1x a week for a month
12. Anonymously make cookies for my crotchety neigbor
13. Ride the Tower of Terror at California Adventure with Steve again even though it was so scary I wanted to die.
14. Host a dinner party
15. Foster a dog and find it a good home

My Wedding Details

Tea Party Attire

I've been looking high and low for something to wear to Phi Tea this weekend. I wanted to wear something springy and flower, but haven't found what I want yet. I just saw this dress and thought it was in the realm of what I'm looking for.

Steve and I were married on November 1st of last year and it was the most amazing thing ever. I got to marry the man of my dreams and I can seriously say that with the exception of wishing I hadn't chosen one of my bridesmaids, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

I was engaged for almost two years, which gave me an eternity to plan. In this eternity I saw so many amazing wedding photos that provided inspiration for the dozens of color themes and motifs I could have chosen. If weddings weren't so stressful, expensive and time-consuming I would have wanted to re-have my wedding every year.

Since we were married in fall, one of the ideas I loved was an autumn theme with pumpkins (my favorite). This came up on my Twitter feed this morning, and I absolutely love the details.

My Love Affair With Pumpkin

Pumpkin is my favorite smell in the world. Every autumn I stock up on all of the Bath & Body Works pumpkin gear: candles, lotions, body spray, room plug-ins, literally everything that smells like pumpkin will end up at my house.

Recently I came across a pumpkin shampoo and conditioner by the people who make Big Sexy Hair products. It's a rehydrating shampoo that smells delicious! There's also a conditioner, two leave in conditioners, soap, hair masque, and a ton of other products. As far as smell goes, I'd give it a 10+. I seriously couldn't stop smelling my hair, and my husband wanted to eat it. As your hair dries the small dissapates a good amount so people won't follow you down the street trying to munch down your hair like pumpkin pie, but it still smells delicious. I actually didn't need a rehydrating shampoo, so as far as texture goes I prefer Garnier Nutrisse Sleek & Shine (for some reason I love this shampoo more than any expensive shampoo I've ever purchased). I'd definitely recommend this to any fellow pumpkin-lovers out there.

Bumblebee Cupcakes

I'm thinking about taking a cake decorating class - I would love to be able to make cute cupcakes and cakes, although it's hard to just bake for two people. Thank god for the workplace. How cute are these?
Here's the how to for the Marzipan Bumblebee on Piped Flower by Martha Stewart.

Tools and Materials
2 ounces marzipan per bee
Yellow and black gel-paste food coloring
Unblanched almond slices
Cupcakes (any flavor)
Swiss Meringue Buttercream, tinted yellow
Pastry bag
Small petal pastry tip

Marzipan Bumblebee on Flower How-To
1. Tint half the marzipan yellow and the other half black, kneading each separately until color is uniform. Roll each into a 1/8-inch-thick log. Cut each log crosswise into 1/8-inch-thick pieces. Starting with a black piece and alternating colors, stack 4 pieces, pressing together gently.

2. For head, roll a black piece into a ball, and press onto yellow end of stack. For eyes, pinch off 2 tiny yellow pieces, roll into balls, and press onto head. For stinger, shape end into a slight point. For wings, press 1 almond slice into each side of body.

3. Spread a thin layer of buttercream on 1 cupcake. Pipe petals in a circular pattern around edge with buttercream. Pipe another circle inside first, overlapping slightly. Repeat until cupcake is covered. Gently press a bee on frosting.

Mom, can Lilly come home with me?

I've been searching for a dress for my sorority alumnae tea this weekend and came across an amazingly cute Lilly Pulitzer dress at a ridiculous price. I've been in the store and although her things are so cute and summery, they're a little out of my price range. This dress was at Loehmann's staring at me with its cute little buttons and practically jumping into my bag. I couldn't say no! And when her friends bee and flower brooches wanted to come along, I figured that we might as well celebrate finding this dress for $35.

I'm really excited for the first Phi Tea - we haven't had a formal event in over 2 years, so hopefully it goes well. I'm looking to get something floral and knee length but not too floral or light since I am very pale. We're going to this super cute place in Old Town that's a Victorian house and you wear hats and boas and play croquet. I remember doing the same thing for my sister's birthday when we were 4 and 8 - Too fun!
